Ask yourself…

“How of many of those bullet points have I said to myself or felt deeply within at any point in my life?”

Now, this is the time to be real with yourself. If you truly want to have better experiences in your life, then you must open up within.

If you’re ultimately the only person in your life who is going to experience YOUR emotions, then it is time that you started paying closer attention to the way that you’re feeling in your life.

The point of the statements above is 100% of the human race has gone through them at some point.

It is now time for the collective humanity to start lessening the SELF inflicted damage that we are causing.

Most of this self-inflicted damage happens and most of the time when we don’t realize it or we don’t realize why it is happening.

This my friends, is where you begin now into the portal of the surrendered state of consciousness.

There are a few key points that I want you to pay close attention to which are resistance, illusions, acceptance, surrender and non-attachment.

All of these pointers will point you back to the same portal but, because most of the world has gone through deep levels of consciousness, it is going to take reminders in different ways to break down the barriers of resistance.

Acceptance & Resistance

Speaking of resistance, all those statements above, every one of them (whether you said them in your mind, or you felt them deep within your bones) were forms of resistance.

What truly is resistance?

The first thing that you must deeply accept is that nothing that you ever do, think, or feel happens outside of the timeless now.

P.S This is not philosophy or deep, this is a FACT.

What this means is that the past and future only exist in thought. Past and future can ONLY exist in your mind.

The mind is the way that you divide the timeless present moment into many moments.

So why does it feel like time does exist?

Well, we have clocks that tick and you can watch them tick from past to the current second to the future.

You plan your life, make appointments, watch the sun rise and set, and all of these happen over and over again, so they become patterns in the mind.

So from the physical standpoint (mind), time does exist but it doesn’t take away from the fact everything you do is through this present moment.

To stress this in a logical way, earlier today while I ate breakfast (past) I still ate breakfast in the present moment.

But because you are not eating breakfast NOW, eating breakfast is not reality, and the only reality is the one that you can feel your breath in, which is the way you know you’re alive in the now as the now.

The reason that I wanted to hammer home the point that nothing ever happens outside of the moment is because it is the right here in which either acceptance or resistance happens.

Acceptance and resistance happen on an internal level first. Both happen in the now, because here is the only place that you can feel what’s going on inside.

Resistance means you say “NO” inside to the “what is” of reality.

And acceptance is you say “YES” to the “what is” of the reality which is ALL THERE IS.

“Always say “yes” to the present moment. What could be more futile, more insane, than to create inner resistance to what already is? What could be more insane than to oppose life itself, which is now and always now? Surrender to what is. Say “yes” to life — and see how life suddenly starts working for you rather than against you.” ― Eckhart Tolle

Illusions

First let’s take a look at some of the synonyms of existence or other words that mean the same thing.

With these words that mean existence or reality, let’s take a look at the illusions blocking us off from seeing them.

1. The Past Exist, So It Is Me.

Have you been through a lot in your life that is hard to let go of?

Well, a lot of that is because you still think that the past exists and is an ESSENTIAL part of who you are.

Remember I ate breakfast today and in that past present moment and because it was the present it was reality for that moment in linear time, but that situation no longer exists and neither does all past situations.

So the first thing you must feel deeply is that because the past does not exist, neither does the “me” built from past experiences.

2. Salvation & Freedom Are in The Future

“Well, if there is not a past there is certainly a future because if there weren’t then I would be dead right now.”

And yet, the illusion gets stronger.

Ask yourself “Can I directly experience the future?”

“Have I ever directly experienced the future?”

How could you if it’s some point after this present moment?

It is only an imagination in the mind.

We will continue to use the future in this world as a practical way of planning for the future to stay in this physical existence, and that’s it.

I was never in existence and I will never be in existence, because I am breathing right now as existence.

Being in existence means that we either go to it or go away from it, but existence never comes or goes because it (you) is eternal.

Remember existence can also mean breath, being (conscious presence) and presence.

“Once you realize that the road is the goal and that you are always on the road, not to reach a goal, but to enjoy its beauty and its wisdom, life ceases to be a task and becomes natural and simple, in itself an ecstasy.” ― Nisargadatta Maharaj

There is no journey, because you are the journey. There is no moment to get to or to be in because you are the moment full stop.

We think that somewhere in the future lies our freedom and because the future doesn’t exist except in the mind, we unconsciously think that the mind can fulfill us which keeps us on the never ending journey of suffering.

So, if you keep trying to relive the past or think the past is absolutely necessary aside from practical reasons, you will suffer.

When your focus is DOMINANTLY on past and future and never on simply existing or just being aware of now for now’s sake, then you suffer.

Surrender & Non Attachment

“Whatever is destined not to happen will not happen, try as you may. Whatever is destined to happen will happen, do what you may to prevent it. This is certain. The best course, therefore, is to remain silent.” ― Ramana Maharshi

Surrendering is knowing that there is nothing but the present moment and allowing this to be so no matter what happens in your life situation or circumstance you always will be able to come back here and silence the mind.

You don’t have to contemplate whether this is true; you know that life has challenged you and is going to bring you lot more challenges, BUT a challenge does not automatically have to equal intense resistance.

Surrendering is the acceptance of the suchness of this moment.

Now, because time does not exist, we are still going to use time in the physical world.

This means that because time exists in the physical world, the situation you are in IS going to change.

There is one thing that is constant and in fact the only constant in this world and that is change.

As the world changes, your life situation is going to be in flux; suffering will happen if you resist change NO MATTER what happens.

Peace will happen if you surrender and accept that things are going to change.

Sometimes there will be pleasure and sometimes there will be pain, but peace is the acceptance that both of those are illusory.

It is extremely important to know this about emotions as well. One moment you can be in a state of pure joy and then a few moments later you can be in an angry rage.

When you accept the way that you are feeling at any moment, even the painful ones, then you will feel a deep level of peace underneath the emotion.

This means, when you are joyful, you are non-attached to that feeling and when you are in a lower energy state, you accept that just as much.

“Life is a series of natural and spontaneous changes. Don’t resist them; that only creates sorrow. Let reality be reality. Let things flow naturally forward in whatever way they like.” ― Lao Tzu
