Why Growing Up Is Overrated - Universoul Awakening

kid kid/noun

1.

informal

a child or young person.

synonyms:Child, youngster, little one, baby, toddler, tot, infant, boy/girl, young person, Minor

Do you see a common denominator here?

“GROW UP!”

“BE RESPONSIBLE”

“TAKE CARE OF BUSINESS”

These are things you begin to hear as you enter into your adulthood.

Essentially what this usually refers to is to go get a job, stop acting weird, be on time, follow the rules and save your money.

I’d like to translate these words for you.

A hysterical thing happened to me the other day while I was playing with my niece Lilly who is three years of age.

We were watching trailers of cartoon movies and acting weird together.

What is weird you ask?

My Dad was in the other room and he told Lilly,

“Come out here with the GROWN UPS

And it was a clear shot at me to demean me, as if acting like a child is something that I should be completely ashamed of.

(I wasn’t really, just not quite up to the adult standard)

Well, I have to admit that my ego came out there and I snapped back at him by saying, “Yes, Lilly, go out there with the robots.”

My Dad instantly got extremely upset with me and right as he began to yell at me, my 3-year-old niece Lilly said

“HE SAID GO OUT THERE WITH GROW BOTS!!”

Clearly my niece was getting it mixed up between what he said and what I said.

And as soon as she said that I started rolling on the floor laughing and it was like laughing had taken complete control of me to the point that while my father was continuing to rumble for a nice few minutes in a row, I had no clue what he was saying because I was laughing so hard at what my niece had said.

What was so funny about it was that she didn’t realize what she said but it made perfectly good sense. “GROWBOTS” or a grown up who is has identified him or herself as this label that’s used for people to act a certain way.

Think about the mysteriousness of a kid, the imagination, the wonder, the carefree spirit of a kid and why in particular, I never wanted to grow up, and I still don’t.

Kids have so much fun playing with their friends with not a care in the world.

It’s like being in the zone of playfulness without actually realizing it. No rent due, no car payment to worry about, no phone bill, no insurance, no politics to analyze and stress over, no drama, well nothing to really stress over for the most part and no future to really have to worry about.

I like what most adults would say is….

“Well responsibilities like these are just a part of life, and you are living in a fantasy land if you don’t think so.”

And I certainly agree that they are, but there’s a lot of unnecessary baggage that society has attached to those “responsibilities.”

First off, let’s get to the meat and potatoes of why “growing up is overrated.”

Everyone looks at children when they get into trouble, or break stuff, or spill something as ignorant or just not knowing any better.

And usually what they say to young kids is “NO!.”

But I’ll be the first one to tell you that grown-ups don’t know any better because rather than being curious about life with great and magical wonder, their focus, worry and anxiety is on money.

We equate worrying as the same thing as being responsible. If I don’t worry about responsibilities, then I am not responsible is what we have been lead to believe.

“Worry pretends to be necessary but serves no useful purpose” ― Eckhart Tolle

Imagine if we taught kids about the importance of being aware of having responsibilities rather than having to ‘worry’ about them. For worry is awareness with pain.

The reason most of us worry is because we are trained to worry and taught to worry, not directly through words but through people’s energy.

Worry then becomes the norm because we think it is necessary.

Then you have education systems who teach us the importance of having high IQ.

Generally speaking, having a high IQ is stuffing information in your brain and holding it there.

What the individual and what every human being truly wants is not all the information in the world; what we want is to be aware of the present moment, It is right here and right now where we tap into not just the intelligence of our inner child but into the intelligence of our most sacred space—just fresh out of the womb.

This is not just one of the challenges of “grown-ups” but one of the common dysfunctions of the entire human race, in particular the human mind.

We keep forcing on these children that what they need to worry about is preparing for their future, to go to school, get good grades, go to college, get a degree, land a career, save for retirement (the future) and then find a nice comfortable spot in your casket and then take a nap there for the rest of eternity.

Breaking news!

Now repeat after me:

The universe, god, consciousness (whatever you want to call it) has never created a rule book on how we are supposed to live, what our lifestyle is supposed to be like, and how we are supposed to act and behave.

Babies are born in their most natural sense, and kids at their youngest age act spontaneously with almost no effort on how they are going to live their lives.

With that being said for the practical’s out there is doing your best with what the world has given you but not being afraid to push the boundaries and not conforming to what is socially acceptable.

But this also means that if what you naturally would like to do just so happens to be popular don’t sweat that either.

The last thing we want to do is think that everything we do that is “popular” means we are conforming, and this is absolutely not the case.

Go with the flow of how you are feeling in the moment, and when you realize “Wow, I actually don’t have to do this, or be this way,” then pivot and dissolve into the spontaneous conscious moment.

Living a life with the foundation of conscious presence means that you’re not living a fixed life, a packaged life, a life done for you.

In fact, living spontaneously means you’re probably going to run into many bumps, acquire many bruises, and fail a LOT in terms of what works for you and what doesn’t.

“Anyone who has never made a mistake has never tried anything new.” ― Albert Einstein

Just know that Albert Einstein failed grade school, was considered retarded or mentally challenged and has gone on to be considered one of the, if not the smartest individuals who has ever lived relative to his ERA.

Einstein decided that what society wanted for him was not what he wanted for himself, and he essentially paved the way for a new kind of human being by challenging the status quo.

“I am enough of an artist to draw freely upon my imagination. Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world.” ― Albert Einstein

Here when he says knowledge, he is referring to information. Information can help you experience life in different ways, but it alone cannot free you. What you are reading right now can help better your life but cannot free you.

The only thing that can free you is your degree of conscious presence. Words can point you in the direction of presence, but words cannot be aware of your conscious presence for you.

You cannot directly experience these words until they have pointed you in the direct awareness of where they are trying to point.

And they are pointing to the one constant fulfillment, your conscious presence.

And this even goes for Albert Einstein, Jesus, Buddha, and Krishna, for that matter.

They could at best help expand the awareness of people but could not live for others, so therefore they could not give others freedom.

I decided 2 years ago that I am done working for someone and that I am going to go through the trials and tribulations of getting an online business going and, although it’s been less financially secure, I’ve never been happier, more alive. (Hence, the reason you are reading this article.)

With this being said, conscious presence is everything and everyone and you can only be aware of it right here.

A newborn baby is at essentially the peak of its consciousness because it has yet go through it’s culture, to be conditioned with heaps of information, and to be programmed.

If you were born, it is because consciousness wants to experience life through you, even the conditioning as a way of knowing itself.

So the conditioning and programming are not bad, but unless they are looked at as a tool and not reality then they will continuously hurt you.

Kids will develop better IQ’s, get better grades, have more success, be more popular, be more socially accepted, never get in trouble by the law, but with this ‘normal’ stuff they are also becoming less and less fulfilled and almost every time are not realizing why.

(Not these things automatically make you less fulfilled, but only if you think they can or will)

We are all born with a unique DNA.

And that DNA in the real world must do everything in its power to stay as close to its unique power as possible.

DNA is the automatic functioning of your consciousness in this physical world.

This means learning is extremely important but also challenging the status quo, not being afraid to speak your truth and spontaneously creating your lifestyle by making the conscious presence the foundation of your life.

The present moment for far too long has been used as a stepping stone to get to the next place, HAVE TO make it there, then there, then, and because the future never ends in the mind, it’s a one giant hamster wheel, that never ends until you realize the mind can’t fulfill you.

We have to take a step, be aware of this step fully, and realize this step itself is the fulfillment.

Waking up, being aware of your conscious presence means that these words have pointed you in that direction.

Never, under any circumstances, think about the present moment or think that you are in the present moment by thinking.

Let the non-movement of mind be aware and feel through your body this conscious presence.

When you make the conscious presence your foundation, then you can begin to live a more childlike spontaneous and instantaneous lifestyle.

“If you want your children to be intelligent, read them fairy tales. If you want them to be more intelligent, read them more fairy tales.” ― Albert Einstein
